Understanding Diamonds Helps.
Clarity
How clear is the diamond?
Does it have lil spots? Black ones or white?
VS clarity means you can't see any imperfections.
SI clarity starts to show some little spots (inclusions).
Darkness, visibility & positioning of the inclusions will change the price. Stay away from I clarity.
Cut
Does the diamond look dark or grey?
Even when directly in the sun?
Idial cut is the highest grade cut for a diamond.
Cut grade is a diamonds achilles heel. Its an evaluations of the proportions, symetry and finishing polish of a diamond.
Poor cut diamonds won't shine, will retain color (yellow) and are not visually pleasing (lack symmetry).
Color
Is it dirty or is the diamond yellow?
A hint of yellow or yellow from a mile away?
D Flawless is the most rare white possible in a diamond. It goes like this ... D, E, F, G, H, I
Never buy a diamond below I color because she will notice or you won't be happy.
Carat Weight
Is it a big diamond?
1 carat diamonds are a popular goal for engagment rings.
As soon as you go bigger than a 1 carat diamond the price goes up ... alot. (more rare)
That's the 4 C's of Diamonds.
